This ornament is also a candy container - paper balloon opens in center
SPECIAL FEATURES
Creative and whimsical, this ornament truly looks like the whimsical homemade ornaments you would find on the Victorian tree. In keeping with the 18th century passion for all things to open into containers that can contain treats for children on Christmas morning, this ornament is no exception. This paper and fabric ornament has a unique feature; the early vintage molded cardboard hot air balloon opens in the center so that you can use it as a candy container! Our George Washington, hand-cut from an antique postcard, is tucked inside a Dresden paper basket of our own making, complete with antique silk flags and antique Dresden trims. The balloon itself is trimmed out with stripes (from a very early silk antique flag), antique dresden papers and early vintage patriotic florist foil.
