Designed as a set with Mary on Cotton Batting Cross (SS022814B). Our customer adores cotton batting flatwork, and ornaments that are designed as a set that goes together. She is loves meticulous details and pastel colors. Cross shaped cardboard cross glorifies an antique scrap portrayal of Jesus and is covered in antique cotton batting, antique tinsel, antique and early vintage milliner's flowers, early vintage foil Dresden paper trim, soft blue antique chenille, tiny pink antique hand-cut glass beads, and early vintage butter-cream velvet with early vintage Dresden paper medallion (back of ornament). At the feet of Jesus there is nature in all stages of development from buds to seed heads, and tiny splashes of red. This is a very spiritual piece for me that went beyond just making a work of art; this one was hard for me to part with! Handmade and signed by Gail Giaimo.
