James Polk, America’s 11th president (1845-1849), would be a great addition to your collection. Ambitious Democrat and close friend to Andrew Jackson, President Polk was the last strong president until the Civil War broke out. Vintage glass bell with gold stars and patterned satin finish is embellished with Gold Dresden paper railing, antique metallic fabric trims, and vintage patriotic ribbon in hard-to-find small scale. Antique scrap Mr. Polk is surrounded by silk flags (created from an antique handkerchief), and a custom-made handle twisted with patriotic trimmings. HANDMADE AND SIGNED BY GAIL GIAIMO.
