Dennis loves the old German fairytale scraps, especially those featuring Hansel and Gretel. These antique die-cuts were especially popular and displayed the children holding a variety of gingerbread treats. For this lovely 4” die-cut girl, I tucked an antique glass “candy stick” into her arm (decorated with tiny orange tinsel ribbon), and added antique silk fabric ruffle that matches the ribbon in her hair. Gretel was paired with a lovely blue oval ornament that I decorated with gold Dresden paper and rare orange cellophane and tinsel trim. I created a gingerbread heart with Dresden paper, antique velvet and rickrack, adding an antique scrap rose to tie in the colors. Fluffy antique chenille-and-aqua roping tie the ornament and girl together.
