SPECIAL FEATURES
This warm and cuddly Santa was created by starting with an antique scrap Santa that was made specifically without a body so Victorian crafters could add their own fanciful fabric, paper, or spun-glass skirt. I used two different kinds of cotton – my best cotton batting from an1850s quilt for the skirt, and rare antique fluffy cotton with its original natural coloring to edge Santa’s cloak, sleeves and cap. Rich purple antique silk velvet and antique Dresden paper border makes Santa look like royalty!! Santa’s boots are decorated with Dresden papers, antique gold fabric, and antique lace (most of which you cannot see unless you peek under his skirt… a special detail that I hope Dennis notices!).  Antique wired tinsel star gives him extra Victorian flair.  Handmade and signed by Gail Giaimo.
