SPECIAL FEATURES

Joe asked me to make an ornament in honor of his son graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis Maryland. I incorporated the USNA gold emblem and century-old postcard he sent me into a two-sided ornament. I created a cardboard circle-star frame the right size to accommodate the emblem and covered it with vintage cotton batting from an old tree skirt. I then used antique red and blue trims along with vintage gold Dresden borders and stars. On the other side I papered it with beautiful antique metallic silver paper and showcased an original the Naval Academy’s chapel in Maryland, and added more beautiful Dresden paper borders.
