Stacy requested that I create a set of cotton and paper ornaments reminiscent of the early folk style popular for during the late 1800s. Of the set of four ornaments I recently made for Stacy, this one is my favorite. An impassioned Jefferson reads the final draft to fellow committee members Benjamin Franklin and John Adams. Crumpled papers are evidence of the great effort taken. It is worth it to read the story on back of the candy container (included in pictures). I had an antique candy box that was just the right size to frame this fantastic advertising card commemorating the famous moment when three great men changed history. Gorgeous antique remnants from a patriotic tassel become trimmings on all sides of the box, combined with embossed antique papers.
