7” long, from tip of butterflies to end of tinsel tail
SPECIAL FEATURES
Ethereal antique chromolithograph came from a Victorian Easter postcard featuring a chubby cherub riding an egg chariot pulled by doves. We carefully cut out our carefree fairy-like creature and fastened him to our own decorated glass egg, complete with antique ribbon-work, antique trim, and our own golden antique Dresden chariot wheels. Rare early vintage feather butterflies embellished with little vintage jewels were employed to drive the chariot. This fabulous 3-D ornament has a kinetic quality unique to the kinds of creations that inspire our customer. Handmade and signed by Gail Giaimo.
Yuliya loves fantasy and has exquisite taste for beautiful works of art. She saw a chariot style ornament and wanted another one with a glass egg treatment being drawn by butterflies. After a long search through antique Easter paper ephemera, Gail selected this particular subject for an imaginative treatment with 3-dimensional butterflies. Yulliya absolutely LOVED the effect! Yuliya's comments below:
"Tremendous beauty can be found in the tiniest of things - butterflies - sky's confetti, thrown upon the Earth in celebration of love, magic, and tenderness. These tiniest earth angels tickle the drowsy hearts, awaken imaginations, curiosities, wonders and dreams. They are the ones who know how it feels to have wings, and how to kiss the petals of flowers in such elegant flitterings. So to have but one moment of such an exquisite flight, would be like a dream, where all seem so right... A wonderful, unique 3D treasure, which will be a "member of the family" for years to come...Thank you for another beautiful creation."
