      SPECIAL FEATURES

      This fabulous chromolithograph, hand-cut from an antique postcard, preserves an important piece of history! These cute little snow guys are probably riding an artist’s version of a Model A, the first car in production made by Ford Motor Company in 1903! The whole ornament is a treasure in red, green and white with gold accents throughout. Pre-mid-century glass sphere has its original frosting and glitter. A clear glass rod is candy-striped with early vintage cellophane ribbon. Ornament is further decorated with antique Dresden paper “Season’s Greetings” script, antique silver velvet, early vintage medallion, antique Dresden trim (fencing below snow people), and vintage compo berries and leaves wrapped with wire and antique tinsel. Hand-made and signed by Glenn Giaimo.

      THIS ONE-OF-A-KIND ORNAMENT is made almost exclusively with antique and early vintage materials, including old glass ornament(s) with beautiful patina; detailed German made embossed scrap(s) and chromolithographs (most of them predate the 1900s and are meticulously backed with early papers and/or old tinsel); a variety of old fabric to include chenille, lace, ribbon and metallic trims; old decorative tinsel (most of which is from old tree garlands); and old papers of all kinds, including lovely old-stock Dresden paper trims, crepe paper, old foil, gift wrap, and other embellishments. The exceptions to the exclusive use of old materials are as follows: 1) occasionally we use newer Dresden paper made in Germany that has been embossed and stamped with antique equipment; 2) Our high-quality gold and silver crinkle-wire is made in Germany with antique equipment.

      1. Victorian Snowmen Christmas ornament

        "We're holding very tight, we're riding in the frozen moonlit sky. Everyone who sees us, greets us, as we fly. Far across the world, the villages go by like dreams: the rivers and the hills, the forests and the streams. Children gaze, open mouthed, taken by surprise: nobody down below believes their eyes..."
        These are the words that popped into my mind once I've seen this playful creation with my own eyes. What I love the most about Gail and Glenn's ornaments is their impeccable attention to details: every corner, every edge, front and back sides are decorated equally beautifully from start to finish. Combined with wonderful imagination, Gail and Glenn have presented an "antique treasure" made nowadays. It will "deliver" magical spirit and warm wishes to my home for years to come.         on 5th Jun 2016
